Active Isolated Stretching: Whether it is preparing for the day ahead, recovering from injury or improving flexibility, this is an easy to follow gentle moving form of stretching that is suitable for anyone.
Fitball Yoga: This easy to follow Yoga class is suitable for all levels, the Fitball for used for mobilising the joints, support during poses, aids stretching or adds a challenge during balances.
Qui Gong: Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises.Suitable for all.
Men's Yoga: A class which aims to be more specific to the strength and flexibility requirements of men. We practice poses to bring freedom to the more inflexible areas: hamstrings, calves, shoulders and chest, whilst standing poses will improve the flexibility of your feet, ankles, legs and hips whilst also developing your strength, balance and endurance.
Rasa Yoga: The weaving of tantra and anasura with mudra, pranayama and story-teller. This class introduces intermediate yoga poses and sequences to blend movement and breath which further develops the capacity of focus and concentration. Participants can expect greater muscle definition, core strength and intelligence, increased respiratory efficiency ultimately leading toward greater awareness and empowerment.
Restorative Yoga: A form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body.
Yoga Nidra: A wonderful restful meditation technique inducing complete physical, emotional and mental relaxation - what we normally term "relaxing" is actually a diversion from our stresses, not an antidote to them. Even when falling asleep, we pass too quickly through the alpha brain wave state to adequately let go of the tensions of the day. The practice of Yoga Nidra creates a state of complete relaxation and receptivity.
Yoga Shred (HIIT): Mindful yoga combined with HIIT. Injecting four to five HIIT sequences into a vinyasa flow class. The aim is to relax the mind with flow and breath work, using the slow twitch muscles fibres for strength and endurance as in traditional yoga. The fast twitch muscle fibres used in HIIT are for sculpting and burning fat.
Yin Yoga: This class consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues.
Please be aware, advance bookings are required, with drinks and snacks available on the day. Classes are available to attend for £5 per class via the Spa reception, with proceeds being donated to the Captain's charity - The halow Project.
