The Manor Reopens this Spring

Manor Lounge & Bar (1)

A New Chapter in Your 1841 Home

For generations, The Manor has marked the moments that matter at Foxhills.

In185 years, only four families have called The Manor home: John Ivatt Briscoe MP, General Hutton, Sir & Lady Borthwick and, since 1975, our Foxhills family.

This spring, it returns with renewed energy, restored detail and a Lounge & Bar designed to bring daily life back to the heart of the house.

As members, you will be the first to experience it. Rather than tell you what has changed, let us show you how you might enjoy it.

10 Manor Moments

A day in the life of The Manor.

Morning

1. A proper Full English before your round.

Coffee poured. Plans made. The day stretching ahead.

2. Morning in the Lounge.

Fresh pastries. A quiet espresso by the fire.
Warm light through restored windows and a familiar table you return to.

Midday

3. A relaxed lunch in the Lounge with a glass of wine.

Crispy Fried Pork with preserved lemon salsa.
Hake Croquettes with béchamel aioli.
Foxhills Gin Marinated Grilled King Prawns.
Chocolate mousse served with two spoons.

4. A bowl of something seasonal and vibrant.

Smoked Beef with piquillo pepper and charred asparagus.
Victorian Citrus Salad with chorizo and crispy fried egg.

5. A long Sunday roast in the Dining Room.

Family gathered. Wine flowing. No rush to leave.

Afternoon

6. Afternoon Tea, wherever the mood takes you.
On the Terrace with views across the grounds, or at the Gazebo while croquet unfolds nearby. Three tiers. Warm scones. Proper occasion.

Early Evening

7. Cocktails after your day.
A Sage and Lemon Vesper Martini.
A Fig Leaf Negroni stirred slowly over block ice.

Our new beverage programme celebrates English heritage, local ingredients and refined craftsmanship

British classics sit alongside seasonal house signatures, garden-led cocktails and considered alcohol-free serves. Every drink is built with care, balance and presence.

8. Small plates at the bar as the light fades.
Venison Finger Samosas.
Crispy Squid Bhajia.
Paneer Tikka with tamarind and tomato chutney.

Flavour-led. Shareable. Designed to linger over.

Evening

9. Dinner at Lomri.
From the spice ports of India to the heart of Surrey.

Each evening, the Dining Room transforms into Lomri, offering authentic yet elevated Indian cuisine. Warm, characterful and crafted with knowledge and care.

Late

10. When dinner turns into one more drink.

The conversation continues long after Lomri.

An Espresso Martini.
Perhaps a Dill Collins or a perfectly balanced Old Fashioned.

As the evenings grow warmer, take it to the Gazebo by Lyne House. When the air cools, settle by the fire with backgammon within reach. No rush. Just one more round.

Designed to Last

The interiors have been shaped by Studio Atkinson, the internationally recognised design studio led by Susie Atkinson. Their portfolio includes some of the most respected hospitality and private members’ spaces in the world, including work with Soho House & Co, Babington House, Lime Wood and Beaverbrook. Known for creating layered, characterful interiors that feel lived-in rather than styled, Studio Atkinson balance heritage and contemporary comfort with remarkable ease. As Susie Atkinson has often described her approach, great interiors should feel “layered, authentic and as though they have evolved over time,” rather than overly styled or imposed.

For The Manor, that means warmth, texture, detail and quiet confidence. Spaces that feel familiar from the moment you step inside.

Our historic windows are being restored by Arts Heritage, specialists in traditional timber conservation and glazing who have worked on some of the UK’s most important heritage buildings, including the House of Commons, the Palace of Westminster, Buckingham Palace, royal residences, National Trust properties and listed country estates across Britain. Their approach is meticulous and conservation-led, ensuring original features are preserved rather than replaced.

The stonework continues to be handled by the same specialist conservation team who restored the Orangery, carefully protecting the original 1841 fabric of the house.

This is not surface decoration.
It is a considered investment in the future of The Manor.

The Heart of Foxhills

The Manor has always been the centerpiece of Foxhills.

With the Lounge & Bar open from morning until late, it becomes a place to return to throughout the week. Not just for occasions, but for everyday rituals.

The doors will reopen very soon.

And when they do, we look forward to welcoming you back to your 1841 home.
