Upcoming Golf Projects

The below video discusses upcoming investment to upgrade the appearance of our water hazard on Hole 6- Longcross.

The finalised date of this work will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Bernard Hunt- Practice Nets upgrade

Commencing Monday 13th April, new nets will be installed at the Bernard Hunt 1st tee. The removal of the existing nets, followed by replacement of three adjoining nets, sat alongside each other. The golfer will be more enclosed in an improved wooden structure; the appearance much more in-keeping and blending into the surroundings.
Ball return will also be a feature of the new nets, with a ramp to encourage your practice balls back to the player.
Our chosen contractor will aim to keep noise disruption as minimal as possible during the works. The work is expected to conclude by Sunday of the week, allowing the new product to open the week following (Monday 20th ).

Driving Range Perimeter Fence installation- Planned for August 2026

This summer, a further 125 linear metres of ball-stop perimeter fencing will be installed at the rear and far left of our golf driving range to improve player safety and prevent ball escape. This is a significant investment by the club to improve the range experience and keep members safe.
The rear fence, (linking with right side fence) will be 20m high x 60 linear metres, with tower spacings of 30m. For reference, this ties into the current height of the right side fence, installed in 2022.
Golf Porjects
The left side fence, (linking with rear fence) will be 20m high x 30m wide, 20m high to 15m high x 30m wide and cover 65 metres, better protecting the 9th tee of Longcross.
The works will begin from August 3rd. The work will require heavy machinery and a large team to complete, so there will be disruption to range usage (in closures or length of shots hit) as well as some Longcross teeing position on the 9th hole.
Temporary repairs required to current fencing

Finally, last week's small storm and high winds has caused the need for emergency temporary netting repairs to our rear fence. This work has been scheduled for the week commencing Monday 13th April also. The range will remain open, with reduced distance shots allowed to a maximum of 150 yards.
Signage at the range will remind members of this and our Golf Operations team will be at the range managing the bays. Any golfers found not adhering to the temporary rules will be asked to leave the facility.
We look forward to the finished result of these projects, as we continually invest in our facilities to provide you with the best offering possible.
