Foxhills proved to be an unbeatable contender once again as it gained the respect of two imposing Gladiators at the National Fitness Awards 2018.

The Surrey club claimed the award of Best Hotel and Spa Facility – for an incredible fourth year running – under the watchful eye of guest hosts Jenny Pacey and Wayne Gordon, formerly the feared duo of Enigma and Doom on the popular TV show.

While there was no dreaded travelator to climb to collect their award, the Foxhills team have clearly scaled the heights again in 2018 to enhance the club’s reputation as an exceptional and diverse leisure experience.

Boasting two 18-hole championship golf courses, a nine-hole par-three course, 11 tennis courts and a wealth of dining and accommodation options, it was the extensive gym and spa facilities which were again honoured at the ceremony in Leicester, in recognition of excellence throughout the fitness industry in the UK.

Foxhills features a 20m indoor swimming pool, hydropool with massage jets, outdoor jacuzzi, steam room, thermal area, relaxation room, two Finnish saunas and a spa garden featuring one of England’s first natural swimming pools with chemical-free water purified by plants and minerals.

And for those keen to balance their tranquil relaxation with something more energetic, the state-of-the-art gym and fitness equipment will cater for those needs.

Tej Walia, Foxhills general manager, said: “Everyone at Foxhills is delighted to win this award for a fourth year running. We continue to strive to provide the best possible experience for our members and guests so this award is testament to the hard work that goes on and the dedication of our team at Foxhills. “Rest assured we will endeavour to raise the bar again in 2019.”

The Foxhills facilities went through a rigorous assessment process, which involved a site visit by a member of the awards team who toured the facility, chatted to members and staff and examined all areas of the business from member retention to customer service.

Detailed reports were then compiled and passed on to an expert judging panel, which then decided the winners in each category from the shortlists.

Amelia Worrall, a member of the judging panel and commercial director of JD Gyms, said: “Despite being a ‘serial NFA winner’, this facility never sits on its laurels – it continues to improve and enhance its offering, year on year. The staff and member achievements show a clear sense of community and so many aspects of Foxhills’ offering are being enhanced. They are the worthy winners of this award and continue to excel in their field.”
