2026 Course Maintenance

Spring Golf Course Maintenance

Our annual scheduled pre-spring course maintenance period is due to start next week. The volume of rainfall we have received since the turn of the year has reduced the scope of works we are able to complete during this period. Luckily, we always plan a contingency week directly following the proposed, should we need to delay any works at this time of year. This spring, we plan to use both weeks in some form in an effort to applying sand on dry days, essentially strategically dodging rainy days.

What will be completed?

Championship Courses - 23rd February - 6th March

Greens to be verti-drained with 12mm tines, to 7inch depth (our usual coring process will be delayed to summer due to conditions)

Light sand dressing of surfaces with 20 tonnes of sand on greens per course, followed by small solid tines 12mm to help close holes at 4" depth.

Rolling of surfaces to smooth over, with final works dependent on soil temperatures at this point. A granular fertilizer will be added to aid recovery

Granular fertilizer of tee boxes and approaches/ green surrounds.

If you have a tee time booked within the next 14 days, golf will proceed as planned. Further availability will open as our maintenance days become clear, from weather forecast assurance. The lighter proposed works reduce recovery times.

In April:

Fairways, approaches and rough areas to be solid tined with 14mm tine, to a depth of 4 inches in April. Top dressed with 450 tonne sand per golf course, brushed in following.

Manor Course greens to be cored and top dressed in March (date TBC)

As mentioned, we look forward to providing smoother, healthier and firmer Spring playing surfaces as a result.
